伊勢に古くから伝わる鰻 The Tradition of Eel in Ise
その昔、江戸から伝わった伊勢の鰻。
今も孝行鰻として、伊勢で古くから言い伝えられています。
天保十三年から現在に至るまで、およそ一世紀。
当店は約１００年以上もの間、今の伊勢にある鰻の伝統を守っています。
Eel culture was brought to Ise from Edo long ago.
It is still handed down in Ise as the legend of the "Filial Eel".
For over a century, since the Tenpo era, Kitaya has preserved the tradition of eel in Ise.
伊勢の鰻の歴史と共に A Century of History
伊勢市の本町に喜多やが誕生したのは、100年前のこと。
伊勢神宮のお膝元、外宮前あたりは当時、大変なにぎわいでした。
伊勢の鰻「孝行鰻」を伊勢神宮にお見えになった方々に楽しんで食していただくため、現在に至るまでの味と心を伝えております。
Kitaya was born in Honmachi, Ise City, 100 years ago.
At that time, the area in front of Ise Jingu Geku was bustling with activity.
We continue to convey the taste and heart of Ise's "Filial Eel" to those visiting Ise Jingu.
西村幸生の生涯 The Legend: Yukio Nishimura
喜多やは故・西村幸生の生家です。
西村幸生は、昭和12年阪神タイガースへ入団し、同14年までの3年間ではありましたが主戦投手として活躍しました。
昭和12年・13年の両年、日本選手権で沢村栄治擁する巨人に勝ち、連続優勝を果たしました。
豪球に加えて、キレの良いシュートとカーブを絶妙のコントロールで配する、すきのない投法でした。
活躍した期間は短いですが、戦前のプロ野球を代表する投手で、特にライバル巨人には滅法強かったそうです。
昭和20年4月3日、フィリピン島バタンガスにて戦死。
昭和52年、関係者のご尽力で銅像が建ち、同年野球殿堂入りを果たしました。
Kitaya is the birthplace of the late Yukio Nishimura.
He joined the Hanshin Tigers in 1937 and was an ace pitcher. He led the team to consecutive championships, defeating the Giants led by Eiji Sawamura.
Known for his powerful fastball and sharp breaking balls, he was a representative pitcher of pre-war professional baseball.
He died in the war in the Philippines in 1945. In 1977, he was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
